Jorge Barón sworn in as District 4 representative

On Jan. 9, Queen Anne’s Jorge Barón was sworn in as the King County Councilmember representing District 4. Barón was accompanied by his wife, Tyler Crone, and two of their children. After the ceremony, he was welcomed with a standing ovation and Crone thanked Justice Mary Yu “for making the moment more meaningful for all of us.”

Barón is the former director of Northwest Immigrant Rights Project and has been selected to chair the Law and Justice committee. Additional committees include: Committee of the Whole (Vice Chair), Budget and Fiscal Management, Health and Human Services, Transportation Economy and Environment, and Regional Transit.
