2024 Northwest Green Home Tour set for April 27

The Northwest Green Home Tour is gearing up for another year on Saturday, April 27. Free and fun for the whole family, this in-person tour features healthy, green new homes and remodels throughout the greater Seattle area and beyond. Visit https://nwgreenhometour.org/register/  for free tickets. A $10 donation is suggested.

The 2024 NW Green Home Tour is an opportunity to see firsthand the many ways that environmentally conscious design and construction can benefit not only the planet as a whole, but your local community, your family, and you. This year's tour features green building approaches that can put more money in your pocket by lowering your energy costs or even eliminating them altogether. We'll show you retrofit remodels, new builds, and backyard cottages. The homes on our tour boast a variety of green building certifications: Passive House, Build Green, and Net Zero.

You'll see how durable green building materials require less maintenance, and green homes are healthier homes with fresher air and fewer toxins. Many sites also include green features outside the building envelope, such as electric vehicle charging, urban farming, solar panels, and rain gardens. Homeowners find that their green homes are more comfortable to live in, quieter, and without the cold drafts of standard construction. You'll have an opportunity to talk with green building architects, designers, and builders to determine the green steps, big and small, that work best for your situation.

Presented by the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild, the Annual Northwest Green Home Tour is a fun opportunity to learn, get inspired, and explore new ways to live more lightly on the earth.

The NW EcoBuilding Guild is a community of construction-related professionals and homeowners concerned with ecological building in the Pacific Northwest, who empower people through education to transform the built environment for long-term sustainability.
