Great Decisions discussion group returns to Magnolia Library

Every other Tuesday beginning Feb. 27, a local Great Decisions discussion group will meet at the Magnolia branch of the Seattle Public Library (2801 34th Ave. W.).

One of hundreds across the country, the groups are meant to give neighbors the opportunity to talk about and debate some of the most pressing current issues in the realm of world affairs, as chosen by a panel of experts. The program is produced by the Foreign Policy Association.

"The Waning of Pax Americana?" kicks off the series on Feb. 27, followed by, "Russia’s Foreign Policy" (March 13), "China’s Geopolitics" (March 27), "Media and Foreign Policy" (April 10), "Turkey: A Partner in Crisis" (April 24), "U.S. Global Engagement and the Military" (May 8), and "South Africa’s Fragile Democracy" (May 22). "Global Health Issues" rounds out the topics on June 5.

Each meeting runs from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the library's conference room, and are free and open to all.
