Two arrested Monday after early-morning Uptown armed robbery

Two suspects were taken into custody early Monday, after a man reported being robbed at gunpoint near Seattle Center.

According to Seattle Police, officers were called to Republican Street and Warren Avenue North shortly after 3 a.m. The victim told responding officers that one of the two suspects had pointed a gun at him and demanded his backpack, before the duo fled toward the center campus.

One suspect was located shortly thereafter near the Seattle Center Monorail station, and was taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered an unloaded pistol from the 20-year-old's waistband. The second suspect, a 34-year-old, was also found, and arrested on multiple outstanding warrants in addition to the robbery.

The two were later booked into the King County Jail, after being interviewed by robbery detectives.
