‘Les Miserables’ opens Thursday at Ballard High

The Ballard High School Playmakers will stage the award-winning musical “Les Misérables” at the Earl Kelly Center for Performing Arts (1418 NW 65th St.) March 16-26. 

The production features 54 actors/singers, a pit orchestra of 35 musicians, and the support of 15 stage technicians, all students from Queen Anne, Magnolia, and Ballard. Practices have been underway since the first week of 2017 to bring the tale of Jean Valjean to life.  

The show is directed by Shawn Riley, with support from Musical Director Courtney Rowley, conducting by Michael James and choreography by Eia Waltzer.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors. Advance tickets can be purchased at showtix4u.com

Show times are 7:30 p.m. on March 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, and 25, and 2 p.m. on March 26.
