Alice M. Wirth May 23, 1925 - March 1, 2017

Alice Marie (Anderson) Wirth passed away peacefully on March 1, 2017 at the age of 91.  Alice was born on May 23, 1925 in Atwater, Minnesota to Frederick and Gina Anderson, and was one of 11 children.

Alice always hoped to become a nurse and, after attending nursing school, she became a registered nurse, and practiced for many years.  She loved working with patients and worked at various Seattle hospitals and at the King County Youth Services Center.  In her early years of work she met her future husband, Don Wirth. They were married in 1948 and remained married for 68 loving years.  Alice and Don spent 12 years living in San Diego, where they raised their family and where they had many fond memories.  Their remaining years were spent in Seattle, where they lived for 46 years in their Queen Anne home.

Alice was known for her generosity and kindness.  She had a compliment and a kind word for everyone, and showed her compassion in many ways.  Her generosity covered many areas, but she particularly loved feeding people - you never left her home hungry.  She also loved animals: cats, dogs, birds and even raccoons.

Alice was a hard worker from her childhood throughout her life.  She was also very creative, working on inventions, painting many beautiful watercolors, and writing a book of her family history.  In all that she did Alice was always happiest being at home.

Alice had great love for her family.  She is survived by her loving husband Don, her four children: Alice Jr. (Cory) Finston, Don Jr. (Sandra) Wirth, Jeannie (Rick) Greaves, Patty Weeks (Brian Alexander); her seven grandchildren: Tom, Anne, Adam, Mike, Dave, Gina and Garet; and her 12 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, John and her sisters, Glennis, Francis, and Phyllis.
We all cherish our time with Alice and her many words of encouragement.  She will be dearly missed by all of us, but we know she is happy now with her family in Heaven.  We love you Mom.

Alice’s family wishes to thank Edna, Maureen, Elmo and the whole team at Magnolia Home Care for providing wonderful care to her. A Memorial for Alice will be scheduled at a later date.
