A 38-year old suspect was taken into custody on Friday morning in Uptown after a stabbing left another man dead.
According to Seattle Police, just after 2 a.m. officers were called to the 500 block of Queen Anne Avenue North after a report that a man was stabbed in the chest near Dick's Drive-In. Witnesses told responding officers that the suspect had come across the street and brandished a large knife in an unprovoked attack, before leaving the scene on foot.
Officers found the 26-year-old victim and began first aid measures until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, police located the suspect and took him into custody without incident, and he was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of murder. Officers also recovered what they believe to be the weapon used in the incident.
Investigators ask anyone with information on the incident to call the Seattle Police Homicide Unit at 206-684-5550, or 206-233-TIPS (8477).
