Seafair is just around the corner, and the procession of pirates, clowns, and princesses will make its way around the city next Wednesday to mark the start of the two-plus month celebration of civic life.
On June 14, Westlake Park will play host to the Seafair Kickoff from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., as the new King Neptune and Queen Alcyone are announced, alongside exhibit booths, hydroplanes, and the various personalities of the annual string of summer events that culminates with the Boeing Seafair Air Show and Albert Lee Appliance Cup the first weekend of August on Lake Washington.
After that kick-off event, the festivities make their way to Queen Anne, with an event at the Queen Anne Safeway Starbucks (2100 Queen Anne Ave. N.) from 2 to 2:30 p.m.
The cavalcade will then cross 15th Avenue West en route to the Magnolia Starbucks (3300 W. McGraw St.), where the various festival personalities will be from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
