Great Decisions groups return

The Magnolia Library (2801 34th Ave W.) will again play host to a Great Decisions discussion group, starting Feb. 28.

The primary focus of the Foreign Policy Association, the groups — held across the country — tackle a wide array of issues chosen by a panel of experts. According to Julie Cragg, who helps organize each year’s group in Magnolia, “the meetings stimulate ideas, provide an opportunity for the participants to delve into important topics in our ever-changing world and have lively discussions with our neighbors and fellow Seattleites.”

This year’s topics are as followed: The Future of Europe: Coping with Crisis (Feb. 28), Trade, Jobs and Politics (March 14), Conflict in the South China Sea (March 28), Saudi Arabia in Transition (April 11), U.S. Foreign Policy and Petroleum (April 25), Latin America’s Political Pendulum (May 9), Prospects for Afghanistan and Pakistan, (May 23), and Nuclear Security: The Enduring Challenge of Nuclear Weapons (June 6).

The meetings are from 1:30 to 3 p.m., free to the public and open to anyone, and held in the conference room on the west side of the library.
