Kohl-Welles holds coffee conversation Saturday

King County Councilmember Jeanne Kohl-Welles will host a “Coffee with Your Councilmember” session on Saturday morning in North Seattle.

Kohl-Welles, who represents District 4 (which covers most of Seattle north of Madison Avenue downtown, and west of Interstate 5), will be at Diva Espresso (14419 Greenwood Ave. N.) from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to meet with constituents for informal discussion on issues the council is currently working on.

That includes the potential for federal funding reductions to county health, housing, and human services, the county’s efforts to battle the heroin and opioid epidemic, the Regional Affordable Housing Task Force, the efforts by Best Starts for Kids to reduce structural inequality, the next steps on reforming and investing in the West Point Treatment Plant, and improving the county’s paratransit access program.

While appointments are not required, those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to jeanne.kohl-welles@kingcounty.gov.

Can’t make it on Saturday? Two more sessions are schedule, one on Sept. 22 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Ballard Coffee Works (2060 NW Market St.) and one on Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Drip City (2929 1st Ave. B)
