Free outdoor preview screening Thursday of new Ken Burns documentary

Seattle Center’s Mural Amphitheatre will play host to a free screening of a preview of Ken Burns’ new documentary on Thursday evening.

‘The Vietnam War,’ is a 10-part, 18-hour documentary film series directed by Burns and Lynn Novick, and KCTS 9 will play host to an outdoor preview screening starting at 8 p.m.

In addition to the film, KCTS will also host a community resource fair — focused on the themes and issues in the documentary — at the Seattle Center Armory from 5 to 8 p.m.

While the event is open to the public, and seating is based on a first-come, first-served basis, those interested in attending are asked to RSVP. Guests are also encouraged to bring low-back chairs, blankets, and food and beverages to picnic on the Amphitheatre lawn.

‘The Vietnam War,’ will air starting Sept. 17, and each night through Sept. 21, then from Sept. 24 through Sept. 28 on KCTS 9.
