Brown Bear hosts ‘Free Car Wash Day’ Thursday

Procrastinators, your day has come.

That is, if putting off a trip to the car wash has been mired on your to-do list.

On Thursday, Brown Bear will celebrate its 60th anniversary by offering free “Beary Clean” washes — normally $8 — at its 23 Puget Sound area tunnel wash locations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. That includes the Interbay location at 1800 15th Ave. W.

“This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the community that has supported us for 60 years,” said Brown Bear founder and CEO Victor Odermat in a press release. “It’s a fun and busy day as we celebrate with our customers while benefitting the environment.”

Two customers will also be selected on Aug. 24 to win free car washes for a year through the Unlimited Wash Club, by taking a photo of their newly-washed vehicle and posting it on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #FreeCarWashDay.

Last year, the annual, “Free Car Wash Day,” set a new record, with nearly 30,000 cars and trucks taking advantage of the promotion. Now in its 10th year, the company has provided nearly 300,000 no-cost washes during its birthday celebrations, and for veterans and current service members each Veterans Day.
