Registration open for Queen Anne Little League

Play ball!

Well, not quite yet, but local aspiring baseball, softball, and t-ball players between the ages of 4 and 18 can now be registered for the 2017 season of Queen Anne Little League.

The fee for baseball and softball is $165, and for t-ball $100, but scholarships are available for those in need. Registration must be completed by Jan. 19 to avoid a $30 late fee. Those interested are also asked to sign up as soon as possible, to assist in league planning for next year.

The t-ball program is designed for boys and girls between 4 and 6, where players hit from a tee and run to first base. Strikes aren’t counted, score isn’t kept, and all players bat each inning. The program starts in mid-March, and runs to the beginning of June, starting with two practices a week, which later becomes two games. Each game/practice takes about an hour.

Baseball is divided in A, AA, AAA, and Majors divisions, along with a Junior League. A is for first graders, AA for second and third graders, AAA for 9-11 year-olds, and Majors for 10-12 year-olds. The program starts in March are runs to the beginning of June. The Junior League is for players aged 13-14, and goes from April to June. Senior League registration (14-18 year old) is currently on hold pending further discussion at the district level.

Softball is also divided into five divisions: A for first and second graders, AA for third graders, AAA for fourth and fifth graders, Majors for sixth and seventh graders, and Juniors for players age 13 and 14.

Children who live or go to school in the 98109, 98119, or 98121 zip codes are eligible to register.
