Bayview celebrates groundbreaking for building renovation

Earlier this month, residents of Bayview Retirement Community and their families, along with staff members and representatives from several construction groups gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the building’s renovation process.

Among those on hand for the Aug. 4 ceremony were stakeholders from Lawton Project Management, Rice Fergus Miller, Andersen Construction, Ziegler Investments, along with members of the Bayview Board of Trustees.

The construction and renovation project is designed to meet the current demands of the market place and will reveal enhanced amenities, greater comfort, and urban living options such as multiple dining options, an off-leash dog park, and much more. A new fitness center and spa will be relocated centrally to the patio level with an expanded pool.

A new two-story addition will house assisted living and a dedicated memory care residence. A number of existing units will be combined to create larger units and new independent apartments will be added, which will have kitchen and laundry options available. Interior corridors and common spaces, as well as the library and dining areas, will be updated. An additional elevator will be added to improve horizontal movement within the building.

The construction project will be conducted in phases, and is expected to take 18 months total to complete.
