Seattle Center Winterfest opens Friday

Seattle Center Winterfest will open this Friday, Friday, Nov. 27, for five weeks of free entertainment and activities for the entire family.

Through Dec. 31, the public can enjoy festivities throughout the Seattle Center grounds, such as the Winter Train & Village and Winterfest Ice Rink.

Opening-weekend activities include:

•Dickens Carolers, on Friday, Nov. 27, and Sunday, Nov. 29, 11 a.m. to noon, in the Armory;

•Highlanders Pipe Band, on Friday, Nov. 27, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Armory;

•3rd Shift Dance, on Friday, Nov. 27, 2 to 3 p.m., in the Armory;

•Zaniac Comedy Show, on Saturday, Nov. 28, 11 a.m. to noon, in the Armory;

•SANCA Cirrus Circus, on Saturday, Nov. 28, and Sunday, Nov. 29, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., in the Armory;

•Hot Dog USA, on Sunday, Nov. 29, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., in the Armory

• SANCA IMPulse, on Saturday, Nov. 28, and Sunday, Nov. 29, 2 to 3 p.m., in the Armory;

•Winter Train & Village, on Friday, Nov. 27, through Dec. 31, in the Armory;

•Winterfest Ice Rink, on Friday, Nov. 27, through Jan. 3, 2016, in the Fisher Pavilion;

•Winterfest Ice Sculpting, on Saturday, Nov. 28, and continuing on Saturdays through Dec. 26, noon to 2 p.m., in the Fisher Apron; and

•Winterfest Student Showcases, on Friday, Nov. 27, through Dec. 31, in the Armory.

Almost all events are free-of-charge; a small fee applies to Winterfest Ice Rink.
