Appeals are made to the Office of the Hearing Examiner, Seattle Municipal Tower, 40th Floor (SMT-40-00), 700 Fifth Ave., Suite 4000, Seattle, WA 98104. Appeals must be accompanied by a $85 filing fee in a check payable to the City of Seattle.

Permit applications

3045 21ST AVE. W. (3018540) for a three-story, three-unit townhouse structure in an environmentally critical area. Surface parking for three vehicles to be provided. Existing single-family residence to remain. Environmental review includes future unit lot subdivision. The following approval is required: SEPA environmental determination. (This project is subject to the Optional DNS Process (WAC 197-11-355) and Early DNS Process (SMC 25.05.355). This comment period may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of this proposal. Building permit may be needed but was not included in this application. Written comments accepted through April 1.

1518 W. DRAVUS ST. (3017929) for a seven-story structure containing 38 residential units. Parking for 19 vehicles to be provided within the structure. Existing building to be demolished. The following approvals are required: Design Review; SEPA environmental determination. (This project is subject to the Optional DNS Process (WAC 197-11-355) and Early DNS Process (SMC 25.05.355). This comment period may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of this proposal. Building permit may be needed but was not included in this application. Written comments accepted through April 1.

 

Permit decisions

527 FIRST AVE. N. (3018775) on a Land Use Application to add three residential units in the basement of an existing three-story, 20-unit apartment building for a total of 23 units. No change in parking. The following appealable decision has been made based on submitted plans: Determination of Non-Significance (no Environmental Impact Statement required). Environmental review completed, and no conditions imposed. This DNS is issued using the optional DNS process in WAC 197.11.355 and SMC 25.05.355. The comment period was originally published on Nov. 20, 2014, and there is no further comment period on this DNS. The hearing examiner must receive appeals of this decision no later than March 30.

 

Appeal hearings

1601 TAYLOR AVE. N. (3018289) for a Land Use Application to allow a new wireless communication facility with 12 panel antennas on the roof of an existing apartment building (Verizon Wireless). Equipment cabinets will also be located on the roof. The following decision has been appealed: Administrative Conditional Use to allow new minor communication utility in an LR3 granted (Reference Seattle Municipal Code Chapter 23.57.011 B); Administrative Conditional Use to allow new communication utility to exceed the height limit in an L-3 zone granted (Reference Seattle Municipal Code Chapter 23.57.011 B). The appeal hearing will take place on June 16 at 9 a.m.
