Central Library to show Super Bowl Sunday

The 12th Librarian will once again make some noise when the Central Library (1000 Fourth Ave.) shows the big game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., in its Microsoft Auditorium.

Library events are free, and everyone is welcome. Free tickets for seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 2:30 p.m., when the doors will open. The auditorium can accommodate about 275 people.

Although the Central Library closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday, people in the auditorium can stay until the game concludes. The rest of the library will close at 6 p.m.

“No one will be shushed” for cheering, according to city librarian Marcellus Turner.

The library will provide free Seahawk promotional items (limited numbers available). Library staff members will also get into the spirit by wearing their Seahawks jerseys.
