Mandel is new PPC reporter

Eric Mandel is the new staff reporter for Pacific Publishing Co.’s Capitol Hill Times, Queen Anne & Magnolia News, City Living Seattle and Madison Park Times. He replaces Sarah Radmer, who was promoted to editor of the Capitol Hill Times and Monroe Monitor & Valley News.

Mandel has spent more than eight years as a reporter at daily and non-daily newspapers in Wisconsin, Iowa and Washington, most recently as a senior reporter for Sound Publishing at the Covington-Maple Valley-Black Diamond Reporter.

His accomplishments include more than a dozen state and national awards, including being named a finalist for the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association’s 2014 News Writer of the Year.

Beyond his newspaper work, Mandel has worked with the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Public Radio and ESPN.

Mandel followed his now-fiancée to Capitol Hill in Seattle in July 2013. The pair met at the University of Iowa, where Mandel earned a degree in journalism and sports studies, with a certificate in business entrepreneurship.
