The money will go toward modernizing the playground structures and redesigning the surrounding area. The project will include improving the watershed to connect to the surrounding parklands and to reduce ongoing maintenance.
Recipients of the Neighborhood Matching Fund match their awards through a combination of locally raised money, donated materials and expertise and volunteer labor. The Lawton Elementary School PTA pledged $19,550 in material and volunteer hours.
