Health clinic to serve 4,000 over four days

More than 70 patient-care organizations will be on hand for Remote Area Medical (RAM), a free health-care clinic for people in need, taking place at KeyArena from Thursday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Oct. 26.

RAM offers a broad range of services, from general and gynecological examinations, to tooth extractions and fillings, vision care and new glasses and disease diagnosis. The goal is to provide service to 4,000 patients over the four-day period.

Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis; no identification or proof of citizenship is required.

The ticket waiting area opens at 12:01 a.m. each day in the Northwest Rooms, between First and Second avenues North, just south of Republican Street. Distribution of free tickets admitting patients to the clinic begins at 3:30 a.m. and continues until the daily allotment has been distributed. Patient registration begins at 5:30 a.m. in the corridors, guest suites, concert/game bowl and other areas of KeyArena.

Free parking is offered beginning at 12:01 a.m. each day of the clinic in the First Avenue North Garage, located between First and Warren avenues North and Thomas and John streets.
