Waterfront scale model on display at downtown library

The City of Seattle’s Waterfront Seattle scale model will be on display through Jan. 3 at The Seattle Public Library’s Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 3.

The model is 14 feet long and features the conceptual design for the future waterfront, along with project information.

The project area extends 26 blocks along the waterfront, from Pioneer Square to the Olympic Sculpture Park. The conceptual design envisions new parks and paths, access to the water, places to enjoy views, public and cultural spaces, and a new urban street that will accommodate all modes of travel.

The transformation of Seattle waterfront is made possible by the need to replace the failing Elliott Bay Seawall and to remove the Alaskan Way Viaduct. More information about Waterfront Seattle can be found online at www.waterfrontseattle.org.
