'The Buddha' premieres April 7 on KCTS 9

On Wednesday, April 7, KCTS 9 airs the premiere of "The Buddha," a two-hour documentary from award-winning filmmaker David Grubin.

The Buddha draws on 2,500 years of Buddhist art, contemporary footage of pilgrimage sites in India and Nepal, and animation to tell the Buddha's life story and explore the meaning his spiritual journey holds today.

The film includes interviews with the Dalai Lama and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet W.S. Merwin, and narration from actor Richard Gere.

The Buddha premieres on KCTS 9 on Wednesday, April 7, at 8 p.m. Before The Buddha, David Grubin talks with Enrique Cerna on Conversations at KCTS 9 at 7:30 p.m.

The Buddha is presented in conjunction with a major exhibition of artwork inspired by Buddhist pilgrimage at New York's Asia Society Museum, through June 2010.[[In-content Ad]]
