Sixth annual Dog-o-Ween

This year marks the sixth annual Dog-O-Ween fashion extravaganza, which took place Oct. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Genesee Park off-leash area, 4316 S. Genesee St. More than 200 people (and the same number of attired canines) were in attendance.

This annual celebration for supporters of Seattle's off-leash areas featured a costume contest, prizes, silent auctions, games and vendor booths. The grand finale was a costume contest for the most creatively dressed pooches.

The silent auction and costume contest sign-up began at 11 a.m. Raffle prizes were announced every half hour. The costume contest included more than 80 dogs, and were evaluated by local celebrity judges.

Proceeds from the event support improvements to, maintenance of and advocacy for off-leash areas. For more information, visit www.dogoween.org or contact Citizens for Off-Leash Areas at 264-5572 or cola@coladog.org.
