Rev. Kevin L. Bates joins Magnolia Lutheran Church

Magnolia Lutheran Church is excited about welcoming its new Pastor, Rev. Kevin L. Bates.  Pastor Bates began his ministry at Magnolia Lutheran on March 1, 2012.

Pastor Bates grew up in Washington and is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Chicago. He and his wife, Marcia, have two sons, Tyler and Dylan, who are in the Fifth and Sixth grades. The family currently lives in Everett, but will be moving to Magnolia after the end of the school year.

Pastor Bates is completing work on his Doctor of Ministry degree through San Francisco Theological Seminary and Marcia will be doing graduate work at Seattle Pacific University in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Prior to coming to Magnolia Lutheran, Pastor Bates served a congregation in Cook County, Illinois and most recently, he served Advent Lutheran Church in Mill Creek, WA. Under Pastor Bates’ leadership, that congregation experienced nearly a five-fold growth in worship attendance.
