QACC to have elections next Wednesday

The Queen Anne Community Council will have its annual election at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22 at McClure Middle School at 1915First Avenue West.
All adult residents and business owners of Queen Anne are members of the community and encouraged to run for the board, come to the meeting, and to vote.
The community council represents the Queen Anne to the political entities. Concerns include parks, transportation, land use, public safety, and social needs. Hot topics of late include the Viaduct replacement plans, where to put a dog park, a mural at the Dexter Avenue underpass, and the school district's student reassignment plan.
The council needs to represent all citizens from all over Queen Anne, including renters, retirees, and students as well as home owners.
