Marjorie Rodman Stapp

Marjorie Rodman Stapp passed away in the early morning of May 11, 2009 after spending a Mother's Day with her loving family.

Ms. Stapp, the daughter of Wiles and Vivian Rodman was born April 1, 1922 in Wapato, Wash. She graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1938 and received a teaching degree from Central Washington Teacher's College in 1942.

On Dec. 29, 1946 she married Dickinson Wilson Stapp in Seattle. They lived in Queen Anne and Magnolia.

Ms. Stapp was a devoted wife to her husband, Dick, for 58 years until his death in 2003.

Ms. Stapp was devoted to her faith and her church community; teaching Sunday school for more than 25 years, was a church elder. She was a dear friend to many in her neighborhood, community and church.

Ms. Stapp is survived by her sons and daughters in law, John (Cristie), Jim (Joline), David (Lynn); adored grandchildren: Wiles, Jackie, Sarah, and step-grandsons Michael and Alex Cassidy; her sister, Helen Kennison; sister-in-law, Mary Stapp; nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.  

Her husband, Dick, and brother, Les Rodman, preceded Ms. Stapp in death.

In 2007, Ms. Stapp moved again, this time back to Queen Anne to Bayview Manor where she joined many old friends. Ms. Stapp asked that any memorials be made to "any place you care about." The family suggests Magnolia Presbyterian Church, Hospice, or Queen Anne HelpLine.

The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 30 at Magnolia Presbyterian Church, 3051 28th Ave. W.[[In-content Ad]]
