LAND USE

Permit applications

2556 14TH AVE. W. (3013594) for a Land Use Application to allow residential development with nine three-story townhouse structures in an environmentally critical area. Surface parking for nine vehicles to be provided on the site. The following approvals are required: Design Review; SEPA environmental determination (This comment period may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of this proposal.) Building permit may be needed but was not included in this application. Written comments accepted through Wednesday, Jan. 23.

 

Public hearing

223 W. GALER ST. (3012582) on the DPD director’s recommendation to conditionally approve the Council Land Use Action to Contract Rezone land from NC2-30’ to NC2-40’. Project includes a four-story structure containing 60 assisted-living units above street-level retail and grading. Parking for 21 vehicles to be provided below-grade. Existing structure to be demolished.

The DPD director has determined that the proposal will not have a significant adverse environmental impact and has issued a Declaration of Non-Significance with conditions (no Environmental Impact Statement required). The comment period was originally published on July 19, 2012, and there is no further comment period on this DNS.

The following appealable decisions have been made in association with this project: SEPA Determination of Non-Significance; Design Review conditionally granted.

A public hearing to take public comment on the DPD director’s recommendation and to establish the record for this application will take place Jan. 30, 2013, at 9 a.m. at the Office of the Hearing Examiner (address below). 

Written comments will be accepted until the close of the hearing scheduled for Jan. 30, 2013. Comments should be sent to City of Seattle, Hearing Examiner, 700 Fifth Ave., Suite 4000, P.O. Box 94729, Seattle, WA 98124-4729. Those persons who want to receive a copy of the hearing examiner’s recommendation should specify that request in their comment letter.

The hearing examiner must receive appeals of the decision to issue a Declaration of Non-Significance and Design Review at the address shown above no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. Appeals must be accompanied by $50 filing fee in a check payable to the City of Seattle. Any appeal of the decision will be heard at the public hearing on Jan. 30, 2013, at 9 a.m.
