Sen. Kohl-Welles' priorities include creating jobs for working families and helping our small businesses survive and prosper. And she firmly believes environmental sustainability and transportation choices are critical to our economic future. She will continue her advocating for quality early learning and public schools, as well as increasing access to affordable higher education.
Additional high priorities for her are ensuring the safety and well-being of children and vulnerable adults, including victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, the homeless and the mentally ill.
There is no better example of Jeanne's willingness to take on controversial issues than her fight for safe, secure and adequate access to medical marijuana for qualifying patients. Thanks to her efforts, progress continues to be made. She's also an outspoken advocate for a fair tax structure, including a state income tax.
