KING FM hires senior Major Gifts officer

Classical KING-FM 98.1, headquartered at 10 Harrison St., has hired Julia Maywald as senior Major Gifts officer.

Maywald returns to Classical KING-FM one year after completing her work as campaign director for KING-FM’s successful $2 million Transition Campaign. 

Maywald’s new role will focus on the development of KING-FM’s Major Gifts program. The program includes all individual and institutional gifts of $1,000 and more.

Prior to KING-FM, Maywald raised funds for organizations across the Puget Sound region for the last 20 years, including United Way of King County, the Women’s Funding Alliance and The Arboretum Foundation.

In 2011, KING FM transitioned from a commercial radio station to a nonprofit classical public radio station, with programming that supports classical music and community arts organizations regionally through programming initiatives such as the Classical KING-FM Young Artist Awards, Arts Channel, “NW Focus,” and “Exploring Music.
