Gates Foundation launches 'The Give Effect' Campaign

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center, created to inspire people by sharing stories of how the foundation and its partners are improving lives, has launched “The Give Effect” campaign to engage Puget Sound residents in giving back to their communities.

Throughout December, residents are invited to participate in the Visitor Center’s Giving Tree, a collection of 250 wishes from local families in need.

Giving cards with each wish can be picked up at the Visitor Center up until Dec. 22. Unwrapped gifts should be dropped off at the Visitor Center no later than Dec. 29, but drop-offs before Tuesday, Dec. 18, are preferred.

To celebrate the culmination of a season of giving, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation invites families across Puget Sound to attend the first-ever Family Day: The Give Effect at the Visitor Center, 440 Fifth Ave. N., on Dec. 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

At Family Day, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in educational, activities like making a plushy doll for a friend, playing on-line games that explore ways to give back or creating a cause bracelet and buttons that represent a global issue that needs to be solved.[[In-content Ad]]
