Freezer Longline Coalition gets new director

Seattle native Chad See is the new executive director of the Freezer Longline Coalition (FLC), which represents the owners and operators of vessels participating in the freezer longline sector of the Pacific cod fishery in the federal waters of the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands and the Gulf of Alaska.

See was previously with the global law firm K&L Gates L.L.P., where he spent 12 years as a member of the firm’s Public Policy and Law Group (Policy Group) in Washington, D.C. While at K&L Gates, See advised clients in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, with a particular focus on Pacific Northwest interests. Prior to K&L Gates, he served on the staffs of U.S. Sens. Patty Murray and John D. Rockefeller IV.

See’s work included efforts on behalf of the fishing and commercial maritime industries in the Pacific Northwest, including outreach to U.S. Department of Commerce officials, the Washington and Alaska Congressional delegations and others to support industry priorities.

Members of the FLC (based at 2303 W. Commodore Way, Suite 202) are committed to the protection of the environment and maintaining a healthy fishery.
