Free recycling event coming to Magnolia

Magnolia United Church of Christ is hosting a recycle event from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5.
The recycle center will be set up at 3555 W. McGraw St. The event is free and all visitors can recycle computers, printers, fax machines, phones, record players, speakers, radios, game systems, TVs, VCRs, Christmas tree lights, appliances, anything with a plug. Recyclers may also bring car batteries, computer batteries, ink toner and cartridges along with scrap metals such as bicycles, tools, lawn furniture, exercise equipment, barbecues and lawnmowers emptied of gas and oil.
For this public service project, Magnolia UCC is partnering with 1 Green Planet, a locally based 501(c)(3)non-profit, public charity recycling organization that is part of Washington E-cycle program.
The recycling services are free. 1-Green Planet diverts e-waste from landfills, turning these disposed electronics into much needed resources.
All processing is done locally and nothing is shipped overseas. Donations help support environmental education and training programs, local food banks, homeless shelter, hospitals and other causes.[[In-content Ad]]
