CLIMATE-CHANGE REALITY SHOW

Umpqua Bank (1630 Queen Anne Ave. N.) will present a screening of Al Gore’s new reality show, “The Climate Reality Project,” which features Queen Anne residents Howard Langeveld and Sonja Price, on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Langeveld and Price had recently completed training with Gore in Chicago to learn about how climate change is connected to human activity.

THE LOWDOWN ON UPTOWN, PART 2

Take a walk on the west side of Queen Anne on Oct. 13, during which you’ll explore some of the architectural treasures of the area. Then delve into one of Seattle’s oldest parks (Kinnear), created in 1889. Afterward, cross the Amgen Helix pedestrian bridge to the beach, and on the way back, look at two historic businesses. Meet at Counterbalance Park (corner of Roy Street and Queen Anne Avenue North) at 2 p.m. Children and dogs welcome. ALZHEIMER’S CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Alzheimer’s Association has a free support group for those who are caring for people with memory loss. Participants will receive information on care management, available services and current research and treatment options.
