Observe an alternate care facility (ACF)
drill which will take place Tuesday, Sept. 14 at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. The ACF will be activated if Seattle experiences a catastrophic emergency. Please see attachment and RSVP if you wish to attend.
The Queen Anne Community Council
Parks Committee will meet at 7:30 PM Tuesday, September 14th. A Port of Seattle Centennial Park at Smith Cove will be on the agenda. The meeting will be at the Queen Anne Community Center located at 1901 First Ave W. Don Harper #281-9018.
Board of Park Commissioners meeting
The commissioners will meet on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Park Board Room at 100 Dexter Ave. N at the corner of Dexter and Denny. The meeting agenda includes a discussion and recommendation on the use of the Atlantic City Nursery site located at 5513 S Cloverdale St. The nursery closed in January of this year for budgetary reasons. The commissioners will also be briefed on what to do with the city's underused tennis courts.
"The Biggest Loser's" Bob Harper to walk for animals
The Seattle Walk for Farm Animals is on Sunday, Oct. 17 at Greenlake and will be hosted by Bob Harper. Please meet at Farm Sanctuary Tables near Greenlake Community Center. Free Clothing Exchange
There will be a free clothing exchange on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Counterbalance Park, located at the corner of Queen Anne Avenue and Roy Street. Bring your clean, lightly used clothes and accessories to swap/trade. No money will be used; no dealers; no resales; no charities; no other organizations during the exchange hours.

Ballard NW Senior Center Activities
Computer Classes
The classes will be held on the first three Thursdays of each month at 1 p.m.
Come learn how to use Word, e-mail, and all the basics that you need to successfully operate a computer. This will be a very flexible class. There is a limit of six people and it cost $5 per class.
Learn Falun Dafa
Join Matthew for this new class to help with relaxation and flexibility on Wednesdays at 1:15 p.m.

Free movie matinees at the Center every Tuesday at 1 p.m. Bring a friend and have a relaxing afternoon.
Flu Immunization Clinic
Come in and get your flu shots on Monday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The H1N1 and seasonal flu combination shot will cost $28 per individual.

Learn to row
Seattle Rowing Center, an organization focused on developing the future one stroke at a time, has opened its doors on the north side of Queen Anne at 1116 West Ewing Street. There are programs for kids in grades 3 through 12.

Bayview Retirement Community
The facility is seeking a volunteer choir director for its Chapel Choir, made up of BRC residents, which has sung at BRC's Sunday evening Vespers (a Christian worship service) for approximately 20 years. More than 2,000 cyclists are expected
2010 Bike MS Ride on Sept. 11 and 12 will be presented by Point B. Starting from the Skagit County Fairgrounds in Mount Vernon, the ride follows scenic routes through Skagit, Whatcom and Island counties. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Northwest Chapter, hosts the annual fundraiser, one of more than 100 rides across the country supporting multiple sclerosis programs and research.
