Looking for an opportunity

to slow down and focus on the meaning of Easter? The community is invited to Stations of the Cross, an interactive spiritual exercise that uses scripture, prayer and hands-on activities to take you on a journey with Jesus to the cross. The Stations of the Cross will begin at 4 p.m., on Good Friday, April 2, and you can come any time up to 7 p.m. Queen Anne Baptist Church, 2011 First Ave. N. There is no charge for this event, and all are welcome. Child care will be available.

The 2010 Childhaven Celebration

Luncheon features keynote speaker Sean Tuohy, the dad behind the inspiring hit film, "The Blind Side." Childhaven's largest fundraiser takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 29, and at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle. Portrayed by singer/actor Tim McGraw in the movie, Tuohy is the adoptive father of Michael Oher, a homeless teenager who went on to become a first-round draft pick NFL football player. Tuohy was a record-breaking basketball player before becoming a successful entrepreneur and NBA broadcaster. A $150 minimum donation is requested to support Childhaven and its efforts to break the cycle of abuse and neglect and heal children and families. Magnolia Historical Society needs YOU!

Rotary is looking for a homeowner

in Magnolia to assist in April. The 20th Annual Spring Rebuilding Day will be Saturday, April 24. The Rebuilding Together organization will assist approximately 30 homeowners and nonprofit facilities in need with the help of 1,000 volunteers. Homeowners must be low-income and physically and/or financially unable to complete the repairs independently. Any homeowners or neighbors who are interested in the program can call 206-682-1231.
