Alvina Brixner: True Seattleite

Alvina Krininger Brixner was a lifelong Seattleite, being born in Seattle on Jan. 26, 1912, and dying just five days short of her 97th birthday. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Myron Brixner; children Mike Brixner (Annie) and Julieann Barker (Alan); grandchildren, Sara (Jason) and David Barker, Mike and Nick Brixner. The second oldest of nine children, Alvina is preceded in death by sisters, Alice Davis, Margaret Voss, Sally Jones and Lucy Krininger. She is survived by brother, Al Krininger (Kay); sisters, Mary Krininger, Dolores Acurio (John), Mitzi Ohlstrom (Bill), and sister-in-law, Gerry Miller, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Brixner attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Queen Anne High School. After an enjoyable career with the downtown Bon Marché, she loved traveling to Europe and spending winters on Maui. She will always be remembered for her cheerful personality and beautiful smile.

The family held a private burial service at Calvary Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Sisters of the Holy Names Retirement Fund, 2911 West Fort Wright Drive, Spokane, WA. 99224.
