A sobering memorial

More than 2,200 markers, each representing an American soldier who has died in Iraq since March 2003, lined the shore along Green Lake Park on Sunday, Jan. 8. Known as the "Arlington Northwest display," the markers each had a name of a fallen soldier. The display was sponsored by Evergreen Peace and Justice Community and Western Washington Veterans for Peace. At right, Eduardo Gomez walks alongside the markers with his son, Guiovanni.[[In-content Ad]]
