The other day, quite by accident, three generations of the Toner family all had appointments at the same time on the same day in the Queen Anne hill Boston Street office of Dr. Frank J. Calvo, DDS.
Kip Toner’s parents, Barney & Cele Toner were patients of Dr. Calvo, and now Dr. Calvo serves Kip and his spouse Claudia Toner, their daughter Cashel Toner, and Cashel’s twins, Emmett and Miles. That extraordinary record represents more than 40 years of service to four generations of the Toner family.
On one occasion when Kip’s mother needed dental work but was unable to get out of her car Kip’s dad drove the car up in front of the dental office and Dr. Calvo wheeled all the needed dental equipment out onto the sidewalk and took care of Kip’s mom while she was seated in the car passenger seat,
Million Dollar Smile: Kip Toner made his living as a professional benefit auctioneer for non-profit organizations all across the nation. These benefit auctions were conducted in a hotel ballroom, school gymnasium or similar facility. They consisted of hundreds of guests participating in a Silent Auction, Live Auction, and Raise Your Paddle at levels of $50 to several thousand dollars. On many occasions after the auction, guests said to Kip that they were not going to bid that next thousand dollar bid in the live auction or contribute at that next $2,500 or $5,000 level during the Raise Your Paddle except that Kip smiled at them and asked them to go one more time.
Kip’s smile technique that made millions for charities was made possible by the work Dr. Calvb had done on Kip’s smile. So Kip has often said Dr. Calvo and Kip raised millions for charities.
Kip and Claudia continue to come in from Bainbridge Island for Dr. Calvo’s dental work on their teeth.
