On the eve of the 50th Seattle International Film Festival, SIFF wants to let the public know that “Film is back!” The festival opens Thursday, May 9, with a screening of the sweet action comedy “Thelma” and a Q&A with the director, producers, and leading actor June Squibb, at the Paramount Theater. Afterward, there will be parties on the Paramount stage and along the Ninth Avenue block outside the theater. Guests are invited to wear their most dazzling gold attire.
