Kali Barber, who served as a graduate assistant in Seattle Pacific's Office of Compliance and Student Success during the 2021-22 school year, is returning to the school as Compliance Manager.
Barber's hiring was announced last week by interim athletic director Dan Lepse.
"I am extremely honored to be able to come back to SPU," Barber said "It has been a place very close to my heart and the fact that Dan and I were able to work together to be able to get the position rolling and geared toward the fall season is just a blessing."
A native of Centennial, Colo., the 24-year-old Barber also will work with others on campus to make sure student-athlete academic needs are being satisfied. In addition, she will supervise the cheer team, and assist with other game-day promotions.
Barber completed her undergraduate degree in exercise science from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., in 2021. While there, she played goalkeeper for the women's soccer team.
Barber then completed her Master of Education in the intercollegiate athletic leadership program at the University of Washington in 2022.
Along with being a fan of soccer and other sports offered at Seattle Pacific, Barber is an avid hockey fan.
“I'm very excited to be working with really incredible coaches and staff," Barber said, "and with incredible athletes who love to play the sports they were recruited for, but also love the academic piece of getting their degree and the career they would like to start."
