KCTS 9 continues partnership with PEMCO

KCTS 9 (401 Mercer St.) recently renewed its partnership with PEMCO, which will help transform its Golden Apple Awards program into a new format for 2016.

In line with KCTS 9’s digital strategy to deliver content across multiple platforms, the new cross-domain, digital, social and broadcast series will include five individually produced “Golden Apple Moments.” Each story will be featured online with supporting articles and resources. The series will be promoted via social channels, including the educational community, and individual segments will be featured on KCTS 9 throughout the year.

The new direction for the program will focus less on complex statistics and benchmark results over time, and more on a teacher, a program or a school’s inspiring idea, exploring why and how it is challenging the status quo and inspiring others. Innovative ideas that are replicable — that can be used as models or templates for other educators — will also be a focus of the program.

Since the first Golden Apple Awards in 1992, KCTS 9 has recognized and honored examples of exceptional teaching and educational innovation in Washington state. PEMCO has been a supporter of the Golden Apple Awards program since 1994.
