QUEEN ANNE HELPLINE
With a successful Fun Run behind us (570 participants, plus generous local businesses helped raise $40,000), we are moving on to our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Taste of Queen Anne. Early bird registration is now open; to buy tickets, visit our website at www.QueenAnneHelplne.org. Prices go up $25 per person after Sept. 12, so don’t wait.
This festive evening celebrates our community with delicious fare from top local restaurants, a hosted wine and beer bar, piano jazz from the Tim Kennedy Trio and amazing Golden Raffle prize packages.
Last year, a sell-out crowd helped us raise an astonishing $144,000, so this year we have added capacity to ensure we have room for everyone.
We are also excited to welcome HomeStreet Bank back as our 5-star title sponsor and hugely appreciate the many other businesses that are partnering with us to help underwrite the event — check our website for a full (and growing) list.
There are opportunities for everyone to participate: invite seven friends and fill a table as a table captain, volunteer at the event, provide a sponsorship (as low as $100), donate a high-value raffle item or experience or just buy your ticket and come join us. For information about any of these opportunities, email lisa@queenannehelpline.org, call the office at (206) 282-1540 or visit our website (QueenAnneHelpline.org).
Fun Run, Taste of Queen Anne…why do we have these fundraising events? First of all, we believe strongly in the power of community and these events are a fantastic way to help build and strengthen our community. And secondly, they provide critical funding for our work. Most of our event revenue goes directly to programs that provide assistance with housing, food and basic needs for some of our most vulnerable neighbors in Queen Anne, Magnolia and South Lake Union.
Here’s what your gifts have enabled us to do so far this year: move 31 formerly homeless families and individuals into permanent housing, prevent evictions and keep the lights on for 425 households and make sure children in our schools are not hungry by distributing 294 meals every weekend. Your support makes our work possible, strengthens our community and is having a huge impact — thank you!
