Tanglewood Supreme (3216 W. Wheeler St.) celebrated its first anniversary of business operations on Saturday, Oct. 26, with a special incarnation of the restaurant’s namesake dish, Tanglewood Supreme, which hadn’t made an appearance until the celebration. (Owner Kent Chappelle’s mother made the Tanglewood Supreme casserole for her family throughout the 1970s.)
All proceeds from the sale of the modernized version of Tanglewood Supreme were donated to Tiny Superheroes, a local organization that makes and provides superhero capes to empower children who have fallen ill or suffer from serious disabilities.
During the summer, the restaurant expanded the duration of its happy hour and increased the frequency of menu updates. Joining executive chef Jeffrey Kessenich in the kitchen is sous chef Kendrick Tipler, who spent the last two years at Bin on the Lake in Kirkland, Wash. They launched the new fall menu on Oct. 1.
Diners booking reservations through OpenTable recently voted Tanglewood Supreme as Best Neighborhood Gem, Best Seafood and fifth Best Food overall in the Seattle area.
