The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office arrested Marysville resident Erick N. Walker last Friday, June 28, for the death of 15-year-old Magnolia resident Molly Conley. Conley was walking with friends in Lake Stevens, Wash., on June 1 when she was shot in the neck in a drive-by shooting.
Walker, 26, was booked into Snohomish County Jail on multiple charges, including suspicion of first-degree murder, but had yet to be formally charged as of press time. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, Walker’s car was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident the same night of the shooting, and investigators subsequently linked him to Conley’s death. Walker is believed to be responsible for several random drive-by shootings that occurred that same evening in Lake Stevens; those resulted only in property damage.
UPDATE (7/3/13): Erick N. Walker was charged Tuesday, July 2, with second-degree murder in Everett District Court. According to prosecutors, the charge does not prevent him from being charged later with first-degree murder in Superior Court.
Walker was also charged with five counts of second-degree assault and four counts of drive-by shooting.
His bail has been set at $5 million.
