Benjamin Slusser and Erica Melief were married Aug. 22, 2009 at The Golf Club at Newcastle.
Slusser, the son of David and Patricia Slusser, was born and raised in Magnolia, attended Our Lady of Fatima Grade School, Blanchet High School, the University of Washington and received his MBA from Seattle University. He is employed by The Boeing Co. Slusser was a long-time carrier of the Magnolia News.
Melief is the daughter of Andre Melief and Jessica Palmer of Bozeman, Mont. She was raised in Bedford, N.Y., attended Claremont-McKenna College in Claremont, Calif., and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in molecular pharmacology at the University of Washington.
The couple became engaged on July 4, 2008 on the summit of Mount Rainier. Avid athletes, they play soccer, hike and run, but their favorite outdoor activity is mountain climbing, and they have summited many of the major peaks of Western Washington. They now reside in Bellevue.[[In-content Ad]]
