Seattle's best video jockeys square off in Opticlash 2

The second annual VJ Battle in Seattle will be held on June 13 from 6 - 10 p.m. in the Capitol Hill Arts Center Showroom. "Opticlash 2" will feature video jockeys battling to mix video images on two huge screens.

Competitors face off in a head-to-head, elimination-style battle judged on creativity, skill and innovation.

The winning VJ will take home a $1000 Edirol V-4 video mixer as the grand prize. Judging the event will be Gary Tucker (SIFF), Gregg Grinnell (KIRO), Donte Parks (The Stranger, Seattlest.com), Kris Moon (co-founder of Laptop Battle, educational director of Decibel Festival) and Cheryll Hidalgo (Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences).

Live music will be provided by DJs J-Justice, Aaron Simpson and Swank. The event is hosted by Kid Hops (KEXP-FM) and a portion of the proceeds will benefit ReelGrrls - a non-profit organization empowering girls through media production.

Tickets are available for $15 at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/15294. This event is open to all ages (bar with ID). The Capitol Hill Arts Center is located at 1621 12th Ave.[[In-content Ad]]
