On Saturday, March 20, the Queen Anne Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from troops 70 and 72 will walk the neighborhood to gather donations. Last week, Scouts left donation bags on neighbors' porches to be filled with canned goods. The filled bags will get weighed and delivered to both the Queen Anne Helpline and the larger Ballard Food Bank. In 2009, the food drive brought in more than 600 pounds of donations. The goal this year is to exceed 1,000 pounds of donations. The Queen Anne Helpline and Ballard Food Bank are especially in need this year to help hundreds of local households make ends meet as a result of the current economic situation.[[In-content Ad]]
