Rowdy Bar Attendees

Police were called to a restaurant located in the 600 block of Queen Anne Avenue North at 9:43 p.m. on Feb. 20 to follow up on an assault that occurred at 5:30 p.m. that evening. Police had previously responded to the scene, but the victim did not initially want to file a police report. After returning from the hospital the victim changed his mind.

The victim told police he was working as a bartender when he heard some customers cursing at a co-worker regarding payment of their bar tab. He said the co-worker took the credit card of one of suspects and they shouted an explicative to him as he walked away. The victim approached the suspects and told them they needed to leave.

One of the suspects began yelling about his credit card, saying he needed it back before they would leave. The co-worker returned the credit card to the suspect along with a receipt. The victim went to find the restaurant's manager. When the victim returned to the bar the suspect took a shot and threw a shot glass and the unsigned receipt behind the bar into an ice tray.

The suspect then began screaming in the victim's face. He then shoved the victim.

The victim attempted to restrain the suspect and forcefully remove him from the bar. The second suspect then punched the victim from behind. Two other bartenders then came out from behind the bar to attempt to restrain the suspects. The suspects began to calm down.

The victim said he had a grasp on the first suspect and was attempting to escort the suspects out when the second suspect said his hat had fallen off. The victim bent over to pick up the hat. As he bent down the suspect turned around and pushed him away. While turning around the suspect's knee smashed into the victim's knee. The victim said he heard a pop and was knocked down on the ground. The men were finally pushed out the door and the police were called. The victim went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a tibeal plateau fracture.

Misplaced Baby Gate

A man called police at 9:34 a.m. on Feb. 22 to report a burglary at his house located in the 3200 block of 40th Avenue West. The man told police he had left his house at 5:30 a.m. and when he returned at about 9 a.m. he noticed a baby gate was out of place. The gate, which he uses to contain his dogs, had been moved from its usual location near the front door. His dogs were corralled behind the gate and whimpering.

The man spoke with his neighbor who said he had heard the dogs barking around 7:45 a.m. The victim told police he might have forgotten to lock the front door when he left.

Police checked the residence and found two broken shutters on the outside of a broken window. Shrubbery near the window appeared freshly broken.

The victim said a jewelry case containing three silver watches had been stolen, but he wasn't sure if anything else was missing.

Unusual Burglary

Police responded to reports of a robbery at an elderly woman's home at 7 p.m. on Feb. 20. The woman, who lives in the 2500 block of 27th Avenue West told police some rings were missing from her bedroom dresser. She checked her purse, which was hanging on the bedroom doorknob, and noticed her checkbook and credit cards were also missing.

Police noted the woman seemed confused about when the thefts could have occurred, stating they could have happened "Thursday, Friday or Saturday." She was not sure if her house doors were locked when the suspects entered her house. There were no sings of forced entry and police spoke with the victim's children about assisting her in notifying her bank of the stolen checks and credit cards.

Stolen Bikes

On March 1 at 5:41 p.m. a woman reported to police that two bicycles had been stolen from her garage located in the 1200 block of Second Avenue North. She said she had left her garage door open on Feb. 28 from about 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. She did not notice the bicycles were missing until noon on March 1, but she was sure the theft occurred when her garage door had been left open.

Garage Burglary

A man told police he returned home at 8 a.m. on Feb. 28 to find his garage door open and multiple items missing from inside. The garage is located in the 3500 block of 27th Place West. From talking to neighbors he found out the garage door was still closed around 5:30 on Feb. 27. Another neighbor told the victim he was walking his dog at 11 p.m. and the garage door was open.

The victim told police a number of hand tools were stolen from boxes inside the garage.

Locked Out

A couple called police at 9:02 p.m. on Feb. 28 to report their house had been broken into. The couple told police they left their home located in the 1100 block of Bigelow Avenue North at 5 p.m. and returned around 9 p.m. Upon returning home they found the front door open, but the screen door closed and locked. When they went around back they saw the kitchen window was open slightly. The man said he had left the window unlocked. The couple walked the police through the house, pointing out all the rooms and areas the suspect and gone through. It appeared the suspect had gone through every visible drawer and dresser in the house. In the bedroom the suspect had pulled all the dresser drawers out and clothing was scattered all over the room. The suspect also had gone through the living room, kitchen, bedroom, spare rooms and basement.

The victims said the only missing items were a house key, a key to their car and two digital cameras. Police suspect the suspect was only looking for cash.

He needed juice

Police were dispatched to a 7-11 store located in the 300 block of Denny Way at 11:47 p.m. on Feb. 27. Upon arrival the cashier told police that at 11:30 p.m. four women entered the store and attempted to buy two bottles of Minute maid punch with a credit card. The cashier noticed the suspect had two credit cards in two different names. Assuming the cards were stolen, he refused that form of payment.

The suspect became angry and pushed the counter items on the floor. She then spat in the cashier's face. The suspects then fled the area and were last seen walking northbound on Fourth Avenue North. The cashier told police he would recognize the suspects if he saw them again.

Gas Station Break In

The manager of a gas station called police at 4:40 a.m. on Feb. 27 to report the station had been broken into. The station is located in the 3300 block of West Government Way. When police arrived they were able to watch surveillance video that showed two individuals wearing dark clothing with bandanas covering their faces approach the station from the west. The suspects attempted to break in through the front door by throwing rocks through it, but were unsuccessful.

The suspects then threw a rock through a large window, breaking it, and allowing them to enter.

Once inside the gas station the suspects filled a black bag with a few dozen packs of cigarettes and about $100 from the cash register. The suspects then left the scene.[[In-content Ad]]
