Bus Stop Attack

A man with a walnut-sized red mark on his left cheek, approached a police officer in the 100 block of Dexter Avenue North at 8:20 p.m., Feb. 4, and said he'd been hit in the face with a glass bottle at a nearby bus stop.

The victim told the officer he had been walking eastbound on Denny Way toward the bus stop in hopes of checking the bus schedule. When he approached the posted schedule he saw the suspect sitting on the bench. He said he then heard the suspect yell an explicative.

The victim looked around and the suspect struck the victim in the left cheek with an empty glass liquor bottle. The two fell to the ground and grappled, but the victim eventually got away.

The officer contacted the suspect, who was still lying on the ground where the victim had left him and visibly intoxicated. The officer took the suspect into into custody.

Screwdriver Stabbing

Police responded to reports of a fight in the 600 block of Queen Anne Avenue North at 11:47 p.m. on Jan. 24. When officers arrived they observed three men fighting on the ground. The fight was broken up and the witness stated that the suspect had stabbed the victim with a screwdriver. The screwdriver was on the ground next to the suspect.

The witness said the victim and his girlfriend were walking on the sidewalk and approached the witness about borrowing a cigarette lighter. The victim, his girlfriend and the witness were talking and hanging out. Later the victim saw his girlfriend being pushed up against the wall by the suspect. The victim tried to intervene to protect his girlfriend. The suspect pulled out a screwdriver approximately 10 inches long with a green handle and stabbed the victim in the lower left chest. He then slashed the back of the victim, ripping his shirt.

The victim had a small scratch on his lower left chest and the back of his shirt was ripped.

The witness and the victim grabbed the suspect and knocked him to the ground to try and prevent him from stabbing them or others. The suspect's left earring was ripped through his ear in the process.

Two screwdrivers were recovered at the scene and placed into evidence. The victim declined medical attention at the scene.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the West Precinct. The Seattle Fire Department responded to the precinct to treat the suspect's injury. The suspect was later booked into King County Jail and charged with misdemeanor assault.

Daytime Burglary

A man left for work at 830 a.m. on Feb. 5. When he returned to his home, located along Armour Street, he found his TV, X-Box-360, games and other electronics missing. He went through the house and found nothing else to be missing.

He found the west side door to his house opened. There were no signs of forced entry. He told police he believed he might have forgotten to lock the door.

The inside of the house was disorganized and messy. Responding police were unable to find any fingerprints.

Neighbors didn't see any suspicious activity. The victim said he saw one neighbor's car parked down the street when he left, but didn't think any other neighbors were home in his neighborhood when he left for work.

Attempted Break-In

Sometime between midnight and 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 someone attempted to break into a condominium located on the 600 block of West Olympic Place, according to members of the condominium's board members.

The complainants told police that someone attempted to gain access to the condominium building via the front door. There were pry marks found on the stainless steel door and doorframe, and the suspect was able to partially remove the door handle. The suspect also attempted to access the intercom system by partially prying the metal faceplate and loosening the screws to the faceplate.

The suspect was not able to gain entry to the building. No witnesses were available.

Overnight Burglary

On Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. police were dispatched to a house located in the 1600 block of 11th Avenue West on reports of a non-forced burglary. The victim told responding officers that he woke up at 6 a.m. and found his car in the garage would not start. He looked in the area that he kept the wireless key and it was missing. He also noticed his gym bag and its contents were strewn around in the back seat of the car.

The victim then looked around the downstairs of his house and noticed more items missing. He called 911 in the afternoon to report the burglary.

The victim said the last person in the house to go to bed did so at about 11 p.m. on Feb. 3. The victim believes the suspect must have entered the house through the downstairs door and took various items from throughout the house while the family was asleep. The victim said there was no damage done to the house.

The following items were taken from the house: one Nintendo Wii, one DVD and Blu Ray disc player, one Linksys wireless router, one Ethernet cable, one tri-fold brown leather wallet, one purple iPod nano, one Blackberry Tour, one wireless Key fab for a Toyota Prius. The estimated total value of the stolen items was more than $1,100.

During the investigation the officers offered to attempt a fingerprint search but the victim refused. There were no shoe prints outside the house. The victim could not provide much information about the items that were stolen. There was no damage to the property itself that the officer could find.

The officer advised the victim to contact him for a follow up report if any more items turned up missing, or any other evidence was found.[[In-content Ad]]
