Joseph Lachman and Harrison Linsey placed first in their respective categories at the Washington State Solo and Ensemble Competition in Ellensburg on April 25.
Lachman, a junior at Garfield High School, placed first in the Harp category. Linsey, a freshman, also at Garfield, won the top spot for Oboe-English Horn.
They earned the right to compete at the State competition by achieving the top score in their respective categories at the regional solo competition held in March. Winners from each of 22 regions across the state went on to compete at the state level.
Lachman and Linsey also perform with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Stephen Rogers Radcliffe. Final results of the state competition can be found at www.wmea.org/StudentEvents/SoloEns/9results.pdf[[In-content Ad]]
